The Season Comes To An End

Apart from circles, everything has a beginning and an end. After a jaw dropping 21 games we have finally come to an end of the season where we had lots of ups and downs but eventually secured our home stretch on a straight line.

One of the major headlines during this season was the departure of Buffon the great. He was an instrumental midfield player but went on to follow his dreams in USA where he is set to join a football academy late this year.

It was in this season that we managed a good away record where we succeeded to gather a majority of our wins on different grounds. Talking of new grounds, the team will relocate the home grounds to the adjacent stadia that is located across the road but finer details will be published as we join new tournaments awaiting next seasons league.

One of the nail biting matches we had this season came during the final stages of the season where we faced Kasi Kasi FC at their home ground in Dagoretti. It was a tussle between two giants but Sharp FC is ever pointy and were ready to pierce through the young Wazito academy players’ defence but we ended up sharing the points due to what a majority can term as unfair decisions made by the match official who seemed to support one side. Sharp FC’s goalkeeper was sent off during early stages of the match for asking the match official a series of questions as to why he was favouring the home team. With 10 men, it seemed all over but the captain gave a captain’s performance and saved his ship from sinking.

Our final match found us drawn away to TUK Hammers in South C at the red cross stadia. It was a low standard pitch and had several issues in terms of grass growth and a few depressions with in. Despite the harsh sun, the team had a good game but eventually lost the final game by three goals to nill. It wasn’t the result we expected but all in all a football match can only have three outcomes where it is either you win, lose or draw. Despite losing the final game, we secured a top 4 finish and confirmed that we had been promoted to the regional division.

It was a rough season but we managed to beat the odds and show our fans together with the management that we are capable of far much greater football.

Viva Los Juja!!!
